What is the difference between deodorant and anti-perspirant?
An antiperspirant blocks the sweat ducts altogether, usually with an Aluminium compound that enters the cells causing them to swell and block the sweat ducts. A deodorant allows perspiration, but use a number of methods to prevent odour causing bacteria.
Do you know the difference between an antiperspirant and a deodorant?
An anti-perspirant stops you from sweating by blocking your sweat ducts. Usually toxic aluminium salts are used that enter your cells causing them to swell, blocking your sweat. This process affects the physiology of your body, that is why antiperspirants are considered an OTC (over-the-counter) drug.
The long-term effects of applying aluminium on your underarm have been studied and suspected to be linked to:

- - Other neurotoxic diseases.
Why should you take the risk?
Deodorants on the other hand work differently. Deodorants do not prevent you from sweating but prevent body odour. Your body needs to sweat. Sweat allows your body to cool down, and to get rid of toxins. Sweat itself does not actually smell. What causes body odour is the bacteria on your skin. Antiseptic agents in deodorant can kill the bacteria that cause bad smells.

Will the deodorant leave white marks on my clothes like other deodorants?
It can, the magnesium in the product is a white powder, but generally if you leave it to dry for a little while you will get minimal marks on your clothing. If you do notice any white marks, they can easily be removed with a damp cloth.
If there is no aluminium in the product, does that mean I need to re-apply during the day to get full protection?
No. Most people find they only need to apply once a day. Our deodorant does not attempt to block your pores or stop the natural process of sweating. Instead the active ingredient inhibits the growth of the odour causing bacteria that lives on your skin.
Is this product just for men?
No, it is unisex. Nasanta deodorant is fragrance free, so will not compete with perfumes or other fragrances you wish to wear.
Is this product just for athletes?
No, it is for everyone. Athletes are our biggest market because they tend to be more aware of the body's need for magnesium, especially for quick recovery and fighting cramping. But everyone can benefit from an increased dose of magnesium, and everyone can benefit from using a deodorant that really works.
What are some symptoms of having low magnesium levels?
Nasanta does not claim to cure any of these, but low magnesium has been linked to; headaches, lethargy, cramping, hypertension, reduced insulin sensitivity, decreased immunity and poor uptake of calcium. Other research has linked low levels to more serious illnesses, such as cancer and diabetes but the evidence is still inconclusive.
Is magnesium bad for anyone?
People with impaired renal function should avoid high doses of magnesium, however that which can be consumed in natural foods, or taken in through the skin, does not constitute an excessive dose.

Yes. The plastic is recycle code 5 which can be taken in most comingles kerbside collections in metropolitan areas around Australia.
What does essential mineral mean?
Certain minerals are essential for the functioning of the human body. These include things like oxygen, carbon, hydrogen. Magnesium is essential as it is necessary for the production of energy within every cell, as well as the relaxation component of nerve impulses and muscle contractions.
Is it bad to share a roll-on with someone else?
Any tool used on the skin, whether it be a roll-on or blush-brush can act as a potential transmission device for disease or infection. As such we would recommend not sharing any of your personal toiletries or cosmetics with others.
I have sensitive skin, can I use this product?
The ingredients in Nasanta magnesium deodorant have been selected to be as gentle on the body as possible. Our ethos is not to test on animals, but we have tested on a lot of friends with sensitive skin, and have only had good feedback so far. We would stress though, if you have very sensitive skin you may wish to patch test on your inner elbow first, and if any redness, itching or pain develops discontinue use immediately.
Is Nasanta deodorant fair trade?
We do not have an official endorsement as a fair trade product, but given that we source all our components from Australian manufacturers and Australia has some of the highest quality labour laws in the world, we are confident that no one is exploited in the production of this product.
Does Nasanta test on animals?
The only animals we have tested the product on are humans who volunteered to try the product. We are please to say that none were harmed in any way during product development, and several were made to smell a whole lot better!
Will my body get used to this deodorant and it stop working?
No, the deodorant acts on the bacteria on your body, not the body itself. The active ingredient in Nasanta deodorant stops the growth of the bacteria, regardless how many times you may have used it before.
